Summer in North Bay 2018

Summer is here… now what?

You have just completed your first year of college and scored an awesome summer job! But we all know that summer is about way more than work!

You thought North Bay was cold all year long?! Heck no!

When we say Northern Ontario has all four seasons, we mean it! It’s time to grab your shorts and tee and experience this city in all of its +30 degree glory.

From our STUNNING waterfront, to trails that can take you from one end of the city to the other, and beyond. Not only is city transit conveniently located downtown, where you can walk along the shops and stop into some of North Bay’s hidden secrets, it’s steps away from the lake.

Wondering where to eat? We recommend any of the delicious local restaurants, but most important ones with a patio, which are easy to see as they will be packed with guests enjoying the hot summer sun.

Looking for activities? North Bay is home to soccer clubs, baseball leagues, and even beach volleyball. The only thing between you and a summer sports team is a Google search.

Interested in hitting the water, but can’t afford to buy your own equipment on your student budget? North Bay Fun Rentals has you covered. There are stand up paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, starting at just $25 for 1.5 hours, life jackets provided.

Interested in concerts? Summer in the Park is North Bay’s biggest weekend of the summer. This 3-day event will feature a concert with Jonathan Roy, Scott Helman, and DNCE! This will be DNCE’s ONLY Canadian stop of the summer!

Want to experience the joys of camping, and it makes seeing the area on a budget much more fun and affordable. Well we are surrounded by beautiful provincial parks, all within an hour and a half drive which makes it optimal for day trips if camping isn’t your thing. We may even want to see how many you can check off in a summer. Algonquin Park, Mattawa River Provincial Park, Amable du Fond River Provincial Park, Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park, South Bay Provincial Park, Restoule Provincial Park, Grundy Lake Provincial Park, French River Provincial Park, Killarney Provincial Park, La Cloche Provincial Park and so many more!

Let’s be real your summer in North Bay is going to be amazing, no matter what you like to do there is something for everyone.
