Financial Aid & Paying for College – Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

School is expensive; moving away from home, paying to tuition, books, food, rent and much more. It can be a little overwhelming but that is why OSAP and other student loans, grants, and scholarships are available, to help make it easier for students and their families to pursue their post-secondary education.

Let’s start with OSAP. Whether you have already submitted an application, you’re currently working on your application or you are still trying to decide if applying for OSAP is the right choice for you, we want to help!

Luckily, the Ontario government has created an easily accessible website outlining answers to most of the questions  you may have about everything…. from qualifying and applying for OSAP to how you will receive your funding and how you will repay your loans once you have completed your studies and/or graduated. One of our favourite new features of the website it the OSAP estimator which allows you to see what you could receive in grants and loans. Just head on over to the website by clicking here.

Still have questions and/or concerns? No problem! You can contact the National Student Loans Service Centre or even your college’s financial aid office. All six Northern Ontario colleges have incredible financial aid offices staffed with people who are there to help you. Just click on the college of your choice below and it will direct you to the OSAP: Financial Aid Offices for each individual college:

Canadore College

Northern College

Cambrian College

Sault College

Collège Boréal

Confederation College

OSAP is a great option for students in financial need during their post-secondary education. Know your options, ask questions and pick the funding source that works best for you!
